NURSE DIED AFTER LASSA FEVER RESURFACE IN OGUN STATE



On Tuesday, the ogun state commissioner for Health, Mr Babatunde Ipaye confirmed that lassa fever has resurfaced in the state.
the disease reportedly took the life of an assistant chief nursing officer at Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba in the state capital Abeokuta.


 about 196 primary contacts with the victim and possible secondary contacts were being monitored with a view to keeping a tab on them, according to Mr. Babatunde.

The primary source of the new case is yet to be identified, the case is under investigation.

Necessary precautions are being taken to curtail the spread of the disease,.

The commissioner also urged the people of the state not to exercise any unnecessary apprehension over the development. And asked them to always maintain a high level of personal hygiene to prevent possible infection.
